Scheduling Questions

How far in advance can I schedule?

You can schedule for any month (past or future) that the Shifts calendar supports. Use Previous / Next to move between months. Plan at least a week (ideally a month) ahead. See Shift Scheduling, Common Tasks.

Can I copy schedules between months?

The app does not offer a "Copy schedule to next month" action. You assign shifts month by month (click cells, use templates, bulk actions). Use repeated patterns (e.g. same templates, same employees) to speed up planning. See Monthly Calendar View.

How does overtime work?

Overtime applies only to full-time employees. You mark a shift as overtime when assigning or editing it. Base hours (from employment type or custom norm) define the regular workload; hours beyond that (plus any explicitly marked overtime) count as overtime. Monthly stats on the Shifts page show overtime hours. Cost typically uses the same hourly rate unless you handle overtime pay elsewhere. See Overtime Management, Employment Types & Payroll.

What happens when someone is on time off?

Approved time off removes overlapping scheduled shifts for that employee. Pending time off does not change the schedule. Time off appears as overlays on the Shifts calendar; you cannot assign new shifts on those days. When planning, check time off so you don't schedule people who are absent. See Time Off on the Calendar, Managing Time Off Records.

Can employees see their schedules?

Yes. On the time clock, after entering their PIN, employees can view their schedule (e.g. Today's Schedule, calendar). The dashboard Today's Schedule widget shows today's assignments for managers. See Time Clock Features, Shift Scheduling, Dashboard & Reporting.
