Monthly Calendar View

The main schedule is a calendar: employees in rows, dates in columns. Each cell is a day for one employee. You assign shifts by adding them to those cells.

Opening the calendar

  • Go to DashboardShifts (or Schedule).

Switching months

  • Use Previous / Next (arrows) next to the month name to move back or forward.
  • The calendar shows the selected month.

Understanding the layout

  • Rows = employees (often grouped by department).
  • Columns = days of the month.
  • Cells = one employee on one day. A shift in a cell shows the shift name or times (and color). Overtime shifts often have a green border.

Department filtering

  • If your organization uses departments, you can filter by department so only certain employees (e.g. Kitchen, Dining) are shown. Use the filter control above or beside the calendar.

Assigning Shifts

Quick assignment (click)

  1. Click the cell for the employee and date.
  2. A menu or dialog opens.
  3. Choose a shift template (or Custom).
  4. For custom shifts, enter start and end time.
  5. For full‑time employees, you may optionally check Overtime.
  6. Save. The shift appears in the cell.

Drag‑and‑drop

  • You can drag a shift template from the list (or similar) and drop it onto a cell to assign it.
  • You can also drag an existing shift between cells (e.g. move it to another employee or another date) to reassign it.

Using shift templates

  • When adding a shift, pick a template from the list. Its name, times, and color are applied. You can override times for that single assignment if the form allows.

Creating custom shifts

  • Choose Custom (or equivalent) instead of a template, then enter start time and end time for that day.

Editing assigned shifts

  1. Click the shift in the cell (or use the cell menu).
  2. Choose Edit.
  3. Change the shift type, times, or overtime flag as needed.
  4. Save.

Removing shifts

  1. Open the cell or shift menu.
  2. Choose Remove or Delete.
  3. Confirm. The shift is removed from that day.

Bulk Operations

You can work on multiple cells at once:

Selecting columns (dates)

  • Select entire date columns (e.g. all employees on a specific day). Used for bulk actions on that day.

Selecting rows (employees)

  • Select entire employee rows (e.g. all days for one employee). Used for bulk actions for that person.

Bulk actions

  • Delete / clear – Remove all shifts in the selected cells (e.g. clear a day or an employee's week).
  • Copy / paste – Some setups let you copy shifts from one date or employee and paste them to others. Use the options in the bulk bar or menu if available.

Using bulk actions

  1. Select the desired rows and/or columns.
  2. A bulk bar or menu appears.
  3. Choose the action (e.g. Delete shifts).
  4. Confirm. The action applies to all selected cells.
