Time Log Management

Regular Review Schedule

  • Daily: Check Live Attendance and time logs for missing check-outs or obvious errors.
  • Weekly: Scan time logs (filter by date range, employee, or department) for missing punches, duplicates, or unusual patterns.
  • Monthly: Cross-check time logs with shift data and payroll inputs (hours, overtime) before closing the period.

Correction Policies

  • Define who can edit or add time logs (e.g. managers, admins) and when (e.g. same day, within 48 hours).
  • Prefer editing existing entries when times are wrong; use Add for missed check-in or check-out.
  • Document corrections outside the app if your payroll or audit process requires it (e.g. who changed what and when).

Location & Verification

  • Location is required for check-in when your organization uses it; the app captures where the employee checked in.
  • Rely on PIN and location as the main verification. See Troubleshooting Time Clock for common time clock issues.

Data Accuracy

  • Ensure employees check in and check out correctly. Remind them to check out at end of shift.
  • Correct missed or wrong punches promptly so hours, payroll, and reports stay accurate.
  • Use filters (employee, department, date range) in Time logs to verify data before using it for payroll or reports.
