Time Clock Deployment
The app uses "time clock" for the employee check-in/check-out interface; "time clock device" for the hardware or browser used to access it.
Device Placement Recommendations
- Place time clock devices where employees can check in and check out easily (e.g. near entrances or break rooms).
- Use a stable surface and good lighting. If using tablets or phones, consider stands or mounts.
- Keep devices out of direct sunlight and away from water or dust to avoid damage.
Network Requirements
- Use a reliable Wi‑Fi or wired connection. Unstable connectivity can cause "offline" errors or failed check-ins.
- Ensure location services (e.g. GPS) are enabled on the device if your organization requires location for check-in.
- If employees use personal devices, they need a browser and internet access to the time clock URL.
User Training
- Managers: Show how to authorize a time clock device (e.g. 8‑digit code), how to view attendance and time logs, and how to correct missed or wrong punches.
- Employees: Show check-in (PIN → location when prompted → confirm), check-out, and time off requests. Emphasize checking out at end of shift.
- Keep short instructions (e.g. PIN, check-in/out steps) near the device or in a shared doc.
Security Considerations
- PINs are unique per organization. Share them securely; don't post them publicly.
- Sign out time clock devices in Organization Settings → Devices when they're retired, lost, or no longer in use.
- Use device authorization (e.g. 8‑digit code) so only authorized devices can be used for check-in. Restrict who can authorize devices to admins or managers.
